Most of us instinctively know there is something very wrong with the slut walks but it is difficult to know immediately what it is. This is because the claimed object of the march is completely reasonable. Of course women have the right to dress sexy without being raped- and this is disputed by.... who exactly?The supposed point of the march is completely pointless because nobody is actually in favour of rape. You may as well organise a protest against gravity.
The thing that I object to is that the slut walkers are not being honest about their motives- even with themselves. They are actually demanding the right to project their emotional needs on to men and then blame us for them.
Women need to feel desired. We know this because they spend so much of their time and money on making themselves beautiful- but what does a woman do if she is NOT beautiful? Generally she convinces herself that every man is crazy for her.
When a man looks her way- he is leering at her.
When he is friendly- he is sexually harassing her.
When he walks behind her- he is following her.
What better way to maintain this self delusion than to convince yourself that every man is a rapist?
THIS is what the slut walks are about. They are demanding the right to maintain their self image by telling lies about innocent men.
