1) Identify the the threats that exist in real life- not just the imaginations of newspaper editors.
2) Identify cost effective ways to deal with these dangers without withdrawing from life or becoming odd in any way.

You will note that this excludes illness and assault. This is because illness will get us all in the end. The big two are cancer and heart attack.
1) Road Traffic Accident.
This is by far the greatest cause of death in healthy adults. You might think that this may change in less developed nations but in fact the death toll is even greater in developing nations despite fewer people having cars.
Use public transport if you can.
2) Falling off things.
This commonly occurs at home where no help is available. Workplace accidents are declining steadily in the advanced nations.
3) Poisoning.
People love to change the doses of their medicines. There are also many new age authorities advising toxic overdoses of vitamins and minerals.
4) Fire and smoke inhalation.
I thought this would be higher.
5) Drowning.
6) Choking.
7) Medical complications and errors.
8) Shooting yourself!
9) Getting run over while a pedestrian.

Political framing

Most positions of power in the UK are held by socialists. This is true not only of government but private industry too. This occurs because the left acts as the gatekeeper of the establishment.
Suppose you wish to enter government. How might this be done? Generally the best way to do this would be to acquire a sociology degree. This subject are founded upon assumptions that many people have come to question. Sociology looks at poverty and calls it underprivilege. The idea that income inequalities may be deserved is alien to the basic language.
Private business has very similar assumptions built into it except that they are called 'equal opportunities'. This assumes equal outcomes are the same thing as equal opportunity. Anyone who points out the difference is assumed to be a racist or a sexist of some kind.
The art of political framing is the art of disagreeing with false notions without becoming the target of a witch hunt.
It all comes down to who is the more political.
Political correctness is a Marxist agenda because it denies the right to rise above the average through hard work. It is political but denies it.
If you believe in..
a) Hard work.
b) Developing your talents.
c) Thinking in original ways.
You may be accused of 'privilege'.
If you point out the personality faults of someone who is different from you (however true this may be) you will be called 'sexist' or 'racist'.
In other words we see a highly political group of zealots projecting their zealotry on to basically non political people. It is very easy to set these guys off on to a rampage. They will try to reverse the truth if they can. They will deny their own agenda while projecting one on to you.
The first line of defense is to make it clear that you are non political- and it is true! All we wish to do on blogs such as this one is to find a way to be free. We have no intention to impose our will upon others and in this sense we are non political.
The second line of defense is to get VERY POLITICAL INDEED. Point out that we have a Conservative Prime Minister who has said he is in favour of hard work and achievement. Tell them that they are breaking the law by reserving all the top jobs for Marxists and fellow travelers. Get a dictionary out and remind them of the actual definition of the word 'equal' and the word 'democracy'.

The original Ghost Nation Essay

There is a generation of men fading from view. This is a global phenomenon but is particularly noticeable (if this is not a contradiction in terms) in the feminist countries.
Men, who have been pushed to the margins in so many ways have simply elected to disappear. I would imagine that as many as one million men have disappeared ether partially or completely from view in the United Kingdom alone- meaning one in twenty or so of the native born male population.
For the most part this disappearance has occurred without anyone noticing because it has consisted of a gradual fading form view rather than a dramatic exodus from the mainstream.
I call these men the Ghost Nation and would like to introduce the term to common use.
How does one become a citizen of the ghost nation? It occurs in many ways, very few of them are pleasant.
First of all one may become a member of the ghost nation by virtue of coming from a broken home. They have never seen either parent work and are told daily that men and boys are useless. As a result they never get the habit of work and drift around the edges of crime. Women coming from the same background have an option that is not available to men and this is to become pregnant. This ensures the basics of life and gives purpose.
Young men have no anchor whatever other than the gangs they may belong to and other groups of men they may hate. His is how young men come to religious fundamentalism, political extremism and violence- a life has to be about something and these men's lives are about nothing at all.
These men are among the most dangerous beings upon the face of the earth. These are the men who make revolutions, a barbarian army within the city walls. They may create or destroy and have no place in the existing order of things and no loyalty to it.
I call these men the ghost army simply because they have no dealings with wider society and are thus invisible to it. They rarely vote and own nothing. At present their anger is purely destructive and tribal in nature- directed against other races and other subcultures such as followers of other music.
Older men are joining the ghost nation more consciously and for other reasons. We (for this is my group) have clearer moral guidelines and have rejected crime and parasitism. Nevertheless we have no place in the existing order of things. Some of us have lost everything through divorce and realised that marrying in the feminist world is simple slavery. We know that no matter how honest we may be the courts and legal system will punish every good deed.
Therefore we work at things that interest us. We become harder to control because we are no longer willing to work inhuman hours for a woman's approval.
Gradually we extricate ourselves from everything we have been brainwashed to believe is normal. This includes consumer credit, expensive chemical sludge pretending to be food and that strange 19th century invention, the career.
Gradually we eliminate, point by point everything that ties us to the feminist state. This takes both economic and emotional form. Rather than let the media form our opinions for us because we are too tired to do anything else, we form our views actively on the internet.
Gradually, gradually we fade from view. We cannot even talk to people who are still within the system because most of them can only talk about their work.
The third group is those who are nearing retirement. They know they will be rich almost anywhere other than the feminist nations and therefore become free at the moment they are no longer needed by feminist society.

Things I like about liberals

For the Liberal- intent is everything. Results nothing.A while ago it occurred to me that there was not a single liberal that I could name as an honest human being.
This worried me. It reminded me far too much of the way feminists talk about men. Maybe I was as bad as them?
For this reason I set out to write the hardest post of my life. I aimed to find everything that is good in the opposing gang.
Liberals generally call this sort of thing sexual harassment.THINGS I LIKE ABOUT LIBERALS.
1) Liberals are often gentle, thoughtful and intelligent individuals. I know this because they usually do quite demanding jobs. They do their best to be open minded and genuinely appear to be listening when you talk to them. Unfortunately everything they hear is scrambled by their liberal 'education' and is never truly understood. They remain as unaware of the real world as a blind mole. They can be quite sweet but are clueless.
Liberals are so clueless they are rather sweet.2) Liberals often operate on the level of magical thinking. They believe terrorists will stop killing if we love them. They believe this because it would be 'nice'. On the personal level this can be quite charming such as the free hugs campaign, guerrilla gardening, the delightfully innocent we are what we do and the charmingly insane real life superheroes. Liberals are actually overgrown children. They want the world to be lovely and sulk when it is not. They should be loved and cared for but kept away from matches and political power.

He did not go himself.3) The most popular politician in the UK is probably Tony Benn who was born in 1925 and has moved steadily to the left his entire life. Like many socialists he was born to privilege but flew as a pilot with the RAF in the second world war. He later renounced his title but not his socialism. Tony Benn generally talks liberal tosh but somehow he appears to be a decent man and not a hypocrite and has never been corrupt. He is shown here signing the belly of a teenage fan- he was 80 at the time but was still able to recruit willing hostages for Saddam Hussein. Unlike the current crop of castrated nobodies that make up liberal politics in the UK he is not ashamed of being a man. Unfortunately these qualities were not inherited by his son Hilary Benn MP who is the ultimate mangina and New Labour careerist doublespeak merchant. A revolting specimen on every level.
Liberal men often combine a horror of masculinity with excessive facial hair. Some of the women too.4) Liberals can sometimes ask the right questions even if their answers are always wrong. Right now the buzz word among certain liberals is 'transition'. This is the belief that the advanced economies are entering a prolonged period of crisis brought about by peak oil and the credit crunch. Unfortunately neither of these problems can be solved by applying 'big government' solutions because the state is bankrupt even at its present size. If the economy begins to shrink as a result of rising oil prices it will mean that the state will have to shrink as well.
Liberal efforts to hijack transition generally center around the New Economics Foundation in the UK. They try to link transition with an egalitarian economic model that is driven by value judgments rather than economic calculation. Nevertheless they cannot 'un ask' a question once it has been asked. Governments of all kinds have tried to stimulate economic growth by expanding credit and debt. The result has been exactly as the reactionary Austrian school predicted it would be. Unfortunately the New Economics Foundation recommend boosting credit by means of complementary currencies and schemes to tie money down to particular locations. This resembles the developmentalism that wrecked much of Africa and is the last gasp of liberalism in the area of economics. The irony is that ANY discussion of the real issues will only bring about a smaller state. Unfortunately the guys at the NEF are too intelligent and too honest to avoid the real issues.

I have discovered a great little site Vote for policies. Many people throw their votes away by voting for the image of the party leader rather than his policies. Politics becomes an empty shell where party leaders are swept to power on the strength of their smile and all meaningful talk is avoided because it may upset someone.
Vote for policies allows you to select favoured policies and then be informed of the party you should be voting for. It may surprise you.

The Ghost Nation Diploma

The Ghost Nation Diploma has been much promised and much delayed. Nevertheless I am working on it when I can.
I am currently reviewing some audio and written materials for the diploma. One interesting treasure trove is iTunes U. This is a dedicated place within iTunes where universities post their lectures for all to download free of charge.
The Open University used to be famous for its TV broadcasts. These were famous for their bizarrely dressed and earnest lecturers. The usual OU garb was a white coat, national health glasses and facial hair. Unfortunately the OU has had something of a makeover and now offers some slick audio visual material free of charge through the iTunes software.
It is quite possible to download the iTunes software without purchacing an iTune player or any music.
I have so far completed the Buddhist Economics section that I believe was created as a result of a personal enthusiasm. It does not go into great depth but raises some interesting questions.

The war about the debt

The present government was elected on the basis that 'something must be done' and have turned this into a mandate to reduce public expenditure. This is clearly the public will and yet the public could just as easely have gone the other way and given a socialist government authority to tax and regualte. As it is we see that the public is torn two ways over the issue. On the one hand they wish to end government waste but on the other hand they would like to string bankers from lampposts. This means that the debate could move us to the left or to the right depending upon how the question is framed.
Various groups have sprung up to educate, confuse and mislead us to this end. Even the government is playing what it believes is a sophisticated political game by making it appear that they are cutting more deeply than they are. In reality most of the supposed cuts are actually cancellations of programmes that were planned by the previous government but would have been canceled whoever won the election. The plan seems to be to cry 'disaster' so that they can blame everything on the previous government. This sets the scene for a second act in which they increase expenditure once again because of their good management.
The trouble with political theater is that most people believe the show more than reality. In other words this government will go down as the second age of austerity despite never making the cuts that are needed.
THE DEBT DENIERS.
The most intelligent of this group are http://falseeconomy.org.uk/. They make a number of dishonest claims- chief of which is the lie that nobody voted for cuts. They minimise the debt by pointing out that the UK had more debt at the end of the second world war than we do now. This is true (sort of) but it ignores the fact that much of the present debt is hidden. Items such as unfunded retirement obligations, capital projects and PFI make the debt even greater than it appears on paper. This is ignored by the debt deniers who focus purely upon the national debt and ignore the fact that government has assumed all sorts of long term obligations that are entirely unfunded at present. This may be contrasted with the situation in 1945 where the obligations of war could be fairly easily wound down.
The great failure of debt denial is that it is dishonest. It would be possible to make a case for paying off the debt by nationalising industry but nobody truly believes that we can ignore it. The result is angry and violent protests that basically refuse to name a solution themselves.
THE DEBT REALISTS.
The right is waking up to the notion that the public may be ready for change provided they understand the gravity of the situation. The trouble is that most people believe that the hard work has already been done even though the cuts are largely imaginary. The present government cuts do not address the national debt. They do not even come close. If we assume the government achieve all of their savings which is doubtful- all that will be achieved that the government will achieve break even by 2015. This means that the present government plan to pile on more and more debt in 1011, 2012, 2013 and 1214. They have no idea how any of will be repaid because their plans do not stretch beyond 2015.
The Tax Payers Alliance is the leading body pressing for change. They are demanding a culture change leading to the actual repayment of the debt. The left are so afraid of this group that they have created their own Other Taxpayers Alliance to throw childish insults at it. Nevertheless the fightback has begun. A rally against the debt will take place on 16 April.
