Dumplings

By - No comments:
Dumplings are great! Dumplings are cheap! Dumplings are high calorie and filling! (Mine do not look like this)
I bought a bag (1 kg) of self raising flour today because it was very cheap (28p) and because this is something 'proper' survivalists do. The great thing about flour is that it is a dry food so a single kilo of flour can make more than a kilo of bread or dumplings.
Actualy I have been experimenting with dumplings on and off all day. There are a surprising number of different kinds. The easiest to make is something the Jamaicans call 'Jack'. This simply involves splashing some milk and self raising flour together to make a non sticky dough. Then squish it together and fry it slowly with some oil. The instructions are a bit confused but the final result tastes OK. English dumplings require self raising flour but also require suet which is bad for you. Most Jamaican boiled dumplings rely upon non raising flour which I do not have.
Dumplings are now a standard austerity food of mine- quite apart from the survival value.

English survivalism

By - No comments:
English survivalism differs from the US variety in two respects. Firstly, there is no 'bugging out' to some pristine wilderness because we are a small and crowded island. There is very little wilderness to be had.
Secondly, we do not carry guns. The US survivalists are quite right to fear the breakdown of order in a society where gun ownership is common. If my neighbours had guns I would make sure I had them too.
Many US survivalists have a years worth of food along with a generator and a water purifier. It would be worth killing a man for such treasure if the alternative were starvation. Unfortunately I have neither the money nor the room to store anything worth killing me for. The only way I can survive is to form alliances with others. I will share with you freely.
My priority is water. I have discovered a sparkling drink in Aldi that is made from real strawberry. In comes in a useful reusable bottle and costs 69p. I will eventually store 100 litres of water in this way.

Slow down and take it easy

By - No comments:
There is a movement towards slowness sweeping Europe- well hardly sweeping- this would be far too stressful, but spreading nonetheless. Most of the links are from the UK but there are probably equivalents in your own countries.
First came the Slow Food Movement this originated in Italy as a reaction to McDonald's. Italians are nationalistic about their food and the farming lobby has a great deal of clout so this was not greatly surprising. The movement became something more than a protest and became more a celibration of community and of the family. One reason families have become so fragile is that they rarely eat together and it is often not home cooked food if they do. If efect the Slow Food Movement became an anti feminist movement because families where both parents work cannot have time for the civilizing influence of good food that the movement advocates.
Next came the concept of Slow Towns. The motivation behind some of these projects may be slightly suspect. Expensive local traders often lobby to keep the national chains out of their area because they cannot compete. You will notice that the only customer in the Ludlow greengrocer is clearly a tourist. I feel a little sorry for the local consumer who has to pay tourist prices. The chief motivation behind making Ludlow and other similar towns into slow towns seems to be tourism rather than the quality of life for local people. Ludlow also takes great pride in its local food and hold a food festival each year and supports taste real food. Ludlow also has a longstanding survivalist group which takes this self sufficient ethos one step further.
We have the sublime Idler magazine with its mix of upper class anarchism, practical idling tips, humor and parenting advice in the form of the Idle parent that became a minor cult of its own. The slow movement even has its own mass movement in the form of the International Institute for Not Doing Much. I say 'movement' but the truth is they do not actually do anything at all. You may also like Early Retirement Extreme,
Feminism keeps us all running round in circles to buy things we do not need. If we ever stopped we might wake up and realize we were men and women rather than cogs in a machine. The whole movement is pro human and anti feminist without even realizing it. I support idleness! Just don't expect me to do anything about it!
All photographs are from Ludlow- the first UK slow town.

The Bridge and the Rope

By - No comments:
A man was crossing a bridge to meet his future. He met a woman half way across who approached him and handed him one end of a rope. "Hold on to this very tightly" she warned "for my life depends upon it."
Mystified the man grasped the rope tightly as he was asked. The woman tied the other end around her body and before he could stop her, she flung herself from the bridge!
The man clung to the rope as tightly as he could as he realised that the woman had been telling the truth! If he let go she would surely die!
He looked around him for some help or something to tie the rope to. There was nothing. The man was strong and so he was able to pull the woman up three times, almost to the point of safety, but each time she threw herself down again. "Heeeeeeelp meeeeeeee!!" was all she would say.
Eventually the man realised that he was tiring and it was growing dark. He would surely be pulled over the edge and meet his death before the following morning.
He gave her one last chance to live. He called over to her and told her that he still had strength to pull her up if she helped him by climbing as he did so.
"Heeeeeelp meeeeeee!" Came her reply.
Yet still she did nothing to save herself.
At the last of his strength the man told her. "I respect your choice" and released the rope.
He continued across the bridge to his future.

How to deal with Liberals

By - No comments:
The liberal is often the enemy of freedom. This is not say that they are bad people. Very often they are compassionate with a real mission to help. They tend to vote for big government because this provides helping roles for themselves.
Unfortunately it is not possible to help a person without also controlling them. The liberal often resembles a parent.
This is what drives the expansion of the state. It is not that a helpless population demand these services- it is that the professions demand people to care for.
The best way to get a liberal off your back is to get them to help you. They fear abandonment so let them feel needed. They are usually good people.

Live as if immortal

By - No comments:
When you were about to be born, your life expectancy was less than sixty years. This is because all of the dangers of life were still ahead of you.
On birth, your life expectancy actually increased. This was despite being older. You had passed one of the great hazards of life.
Childhood is a dangerous time, and by the time you reached the age of twelve you had already proved yourself one of the strong ones. Although you are now older, your life expectancy has also increased. You can now expect to live to about sixty five. Strangely, your life expectancy has grown by fifteen years and yet you are only twelve years older!
You are not consuming your years on earth at all! You now have more years ahead of you than you did before birth!
This is for a number of reasons. Firstly, you have been lucky. This automatically averages up your life expectancy. Second, you have no genetic abnormalities and thirdly, economic growth has made the world safer while you were growing.
Death has receded as you have traveled through life. Although you have grown older, death has come no nearer.
This changes in your thirties. Your life expectancy continues to lengthen- but officially not at the same rate. In fact it is becoming harder to calculate your life expectancy at all because this is based upon partial information.
Life expectancy is based upon the age at which people are dying right now. It is always an under estimate.
For example, if man are dying at the age of (say) 67, this is the product of the life they have led up until the point of death. In other words, his death is not just the product of the environment of 2008 but of all the past years of his life. He has been exposed to chemicals and hazards that no person in there thirties will ever experience. Any life expectancy calculated on this basis is therefore bound to be wrong!
What, then is our life expectancy.
I have no idea whatever!
It may be ten thousand years!!
I am quite serious. I have been following stem cell research quite closely. There is one experiment running right now to breed an immortal fruit fly. In order to do this they force the fly to adopt the Men Going Their Own Way lifestyle- the fruit fly only get to reproduce when they are older, rather like a balding Western man who goes to Thailand. The fly undergoes a form of accelerated evolution. They have to be virile because only virile fly make it to the age at which they can reproduce. So far they have evolved to live double their natural span and it appears that this process continues. The really exciting thing is that they become super fly- far stronger and harder to kill than any normal fruit fly. This reminds me of top athletes who abstain from sex in order to perform better. Perhaps both these phenomena spring from the same root? If this is true of humans, the one hundred year old man of the future will look at the athletic powers of the sixteen year old with pity.
So what till it take to be one of the immortals?
Three things.
Time, money, and the will to live.
We have no idea how long it will take to develop an effective immortality treatment. Maybe it will take a hundred years. This would mean that the children alive today will have a shot at immortality.
Perhaps there will be intermediate treatments- the chance to regenerate a brain, or a heart. In this case we are all in with a chance.
I am told it will be possible to grow new teeth in twenty years.
We shall see.
Perhaps I will meet some of you in a thousand years.
What should we talk about then?

Richard is buying fruit juce

SITUATIONS LIKELY TO RESULT IN A BREAKDOWN IN FOOD AND WATER SUPPLY.
1) FLOODING. Mass immigration to the South-east of England and elsewhere has forced the government to allow the construction of housing on flood planes.
Most survivalist sites seem to be very keen on dry noodles which are only useful if you have water and heat. I prefer to keep plenty of fruit juice in the house. This will keep me hydrated and maintain my strength even if I have no other food.
2) TERRORIST ATTACK. Any use of nerve gas or dirty bomb anywhere will render the water supply suspect. I would recommended having seven days liquid in this event.
3) FLU PANDEMIC. Sweat it out at home in bed. Expect power cuts if it becomes a true pandemic. Drink fruit juice.
Fruit juice emerges as an all purpose survival aid. This will keep at last six months and is far more useful than a Rambo costume with Bazooka and flamethrower or some such nonsense.

The World between the Worlds

By - No comments:
As a child I was a great fan of CS Lewis and the Narnia books (the Christian subtext passed me by at the time). In one of the books there was a world known as the World between the Worlds- this was a silent place, a sort of crossroads from which it was possible to travel between an infinite number of worlds.
I had an experience that reminded me of this world during my divorce. It did not (unfortunately) involve magic lions or talking beavers but in its own way was a transforming and moving experience. It was also the day that the matriarchy almost got me.
It was one of those fantastically quiet and bright days when even the grass and the trees seemed to be waiting for something to happen. There was no wind and only a slight mist to obscure the crisp sunlight. This gave everything an unreal air as if it were nothing but a painted backdrop.
I was depressed at the time, and yet even my own spirits were raised a little by this day. It was a day of possibilities, of new beginnings.
I was exhausted to the core of my bones. I had given every ounce of my strength into maintaining a relationship with a woman who was becoming more and more ill. I had been denied proper sleep for many months due to the constant dramatics and had also become overwhelmed by the chaos that she brought into every aspect of my life- all of which had to be dealt with by me as she was completely irresponsible.
Finally things were looking up. She had assaulted a police officer and was on the run from the police for a while in relation to another offence. Furthermore she had been placed on list 99 due to a series of sexual assaults upon children of both sexes. Unfortunately the removal of immediate danger was the signal for my body to collapse into a deep state of exhaustion. She was able to obtain legal assistance to launch a whole series of legal attacks that had only one real purpose- to cause expense. I was denied any legal advice or representation and had to discover the law myself.
This was because I was on a low wage and therefore unable to pay for a lawyer while she was refusing to support herself in the hope this would increase her divorce settlement.
I therefore had to face experienced lawyers without even knowing the law- all while suffering a serious illness.
It was on one visit to the county court when I had my 'world between the worlds' experience. I wandered into the wrong area of the courtroom where men were waiting to pay fines for minor criminal offences. The atmosphere here was almost festive. The majority of the men there (almost all were men) seemed to be career criminals. They swapped stories about prison and their latest adventures. Suddenly this began to seem attractive.
Matriarchy offers men a devils bargain. It offers freedom from responsibility, casual sex without parental responsibilities and relieves the man of any duty to behave as a man. This can be very attractive if life has kicked you in the guts and you are rolling on the floor in pain. The downside is that it steals your soul- all the strong and decent qualities that make up a man and a father.
The matriarchy invites self pity. It tells you it is OK to be weak, to cry and live off others. The only real crime is to judge another person.
Matriarchy destroys men. It makes us criminals- but it relieves us of responsibility as it does so. I came very close to joining the matriarchy that day. I stood outside of the courthouse for a long time, feeling the silence of that silver morning, feeling myself free to take whatever course I chose.
One of the ways in which Maria had managed to abuse me was to turn my 'patriarchal' sense of right and wrong against me. She had me rescuing her even as she dragged me to hell. It was tempting to release myself from all right and wrong and simply go with the flow. Right and wrong were simply not factors a family court takes into account. The family court system in the UK runs a 'no fault' divorce system while at the same time blaming the man for everything. Wherever we see feminism we also see the death of right and wrong. It seemed to me as I stood there that I had simply been the fall guy for feminism and that my sense of ethics were nothing but a weakness. Perhaps I should become a criminal if this is what the feminist state rewards?
I am not sure how long I stood there, but I remember saying to myself 'let me do the right thing.' Shortly after this I filed my papers and went home.
In fact I did decide to remain within the patriarchy. I supported myself and dragged myself from depression through strength of will. I even fought my divorce on the grounds of right and wrong- even though feminism has abolished it.
And I won.
Sometimes I wonder if that thing that I said to myself 'let me do the right thing' was in fact a prayer to the God I do not believe in.
I have no idea where the strength came from. Perhaps the patriarchal God replied.
Sometimes people change when they finally admit to themselves that they lack the strength to do anything for themselves. From that day onwards I have worked to loosen the claws and hooks that the matriarchy embedded deep within me. Each time I do this I become stronger, more decent, more moral. More of a Man.
Perhaps I will pray more often.

Rice and beans

By - No comments:
This is part of a series of articles on 'survivalism on 1 a day'. It could also be called 'urban survivalism' because most urban dwellers do not have the space to store a years worth of food.
One way to overcome this lack of space/funds is to ensure that you only have items within your home that enhance your survival. Prepping therefore becomes a process of eliminating counter survival junk from your home rather than buying a whole lot of extra kit.
The first thing to do is to work your way through the kitchen and eliminate things you are unlikely ever to use. Many of us have old spices that have lost their flavour or other doubtful stuff. Use what you can and dump the rest.
Good. You now have space. You probably also have some empty containers.
Fill these with long term survival foods such as rice and beans. It is possible to live on a cup or rice and a cup of beans a day provided that you have heat and water. This means that it is quite possible to fit a months supply of food into a single cupboard. Rice and beans will last almost forever (although beans go hard over time). Remember to take multivitamins and to have some spices to make this diet more eatable.
Total cost of survival foods for a month is only 30.

This is the way to be free

By - No comments:
It is quite simple really- but not easy.
All you need to do is find a way to reduce your spending by one pound a month- or find a way to make an extra one pound a month.
This is all we have to do.. but we must do it every day- relentlessly.
This means that we will have an extra 30 a month by the end of the month- an extra 60 by the next and so on.
By the end of the first year we will have an extra 360 each and every month- this is sufficient to live in many countries.
So what have I done today? I registered my electricity supplier with nectar and earned a grand total of 300 points (about 1.50 a month).
What shall I do tomorrow?
TOTAL 1.50pm

Types of survival kit

By - No comments:
A bug in box is the common name for a box of supplies that will be useful if you ever have to hide out in your own home for a while.
In reality it generally consists of three components.
1) General household supplies.
Most homes have a few days worth of food. In the event of a crisis you should fill every available container with water. You may like to keep an assortment of empty bottles and jars on hand for this purpose. Eat the food in your refrigerator first.
2) Your pocket kit.
This is simply the items you carry in your pocket. This should always include cash, a small torch, two pens and a notebook. Other items are up to you.
3) Bug out bag.
This is a more mobile kit that is intended for outdoor use. Nevertheless it is of almost equal use in the home.
4) The bug in box.
This should contain as a minimum-
A wind up torch and radio.
Potassium iodide-the famous 'anti radiation tablets' of 1950's films. Fairly effective against power station sabotage and dirty bombs.
Potassium permanganate. This is a powerful die and water purifier. It is also a component of explosives so be careful of the authorities. It is also useful for sterilising wounds.
Some good survival books.
Plastic sheeting and elephant tape.
Matches or lighter.
Multi vitamins.
Gold Sovereigns
Silver Brittanias (place silver item in water receptacles to keep the water potable).
A good knife.
Plenty of food and more water than you think.

How to reduce your boiler settings

By - No comments:
Most electric boilers are set at about 90 degrees. This is far too hot for most purposes- particularly if you live alone.
I have changed my own settings to forty for the main heater and just thirty for the booster that is used in peak hours. This suits me because I wash laundry at thirty these days. It is a false economy to set the boiler lower than the washing machine.
All you need to do is turn off the mains, remove the covers of the heater units that protrude into the tank, and then change the setting. Remember to turn off the power!
I am also insulating all of my intermal pipes and have tried to buy a jacket for my boiler. Unfortunately it is nessasary to find a jacket of the right size or there is little benefit gained. For this reason I have decided to create my own solution with unwanted clothing. This should take half a day but will probably be better than a paid for insulation jacket once I have finished.
This should save around five pounds a month.

My favourite disaster

By - No comments:
Every survivalist has their 'favourite' disaster. Here is a list of my top three.
3. Dirty bomb
2. Meteor impact
1. Bee extinction
When I say that bee extinction is my 'favorite' disaster I do not mean that is the most likely or even that the incident is the worst disaster imaginable. I am talking about a combination of the two. I am looking for situations that are both preventable and reasonably likely. I do not intend to guard against events that are either-
a) Absurd (anything by David Ike or L Ron Hubbard).
or
b) So destructive that nothing can be done (black holes, supernovas and so on).

Where do Men Going Their own Way go?

By - No comments:
All the best MGTOW blogs disappear sooner or later. I always promised myself that I would not do this with my own effort -Carnival of Reaction but it has happened anyway.
It is a natural progression. Men Going Their Own Way are actually Nice Guys. They have given so much of themselves that there is nothing left. They simply had to retreat because they were utterly exhausted. Most of them had given everything they had and so they were empty.
MGTOW was not a choice for them. It was survival.
Most of the time MGTOW works. The writers recover and look to the world. Many even become boyfriend material, fall in love and suddenly the world looks good again. This time they keep a little of themselves back and no not let themselves be abused. They delete their blog with no explanation.
Many of my old posts were written in amazement at the willingness of men to be managed by women. It was not anger that made me write but surprise that so few could see it. It was simply interesting to me.
Nevertheless this is not the way the posts read to me now.
I came across as defeated, bitter and angry. These were not emotions I was aware of within myself but I think they must have been there. I wanted to delete the lot.
Nevertheless I remembered my promise to myself- and saved as many of my posts as I felt I could. They have been transferred to this site and the old site closed.
Maybe someone should make it his business to save the best MGTOW posts out there. They will almost certanly dissapear in a puff of electrons one morning if this is not done.

2012-2014

By - No comments:
Human beings need drama- and one of the most persistent notion is of the end of days. The story is always the same- the world is coming to an end due to the folly of the rich and the powerful but fortunately a small group see it coming. This is also the motivation behind a lot of survivalism. Survivalists often look forward to a new and more pure society that will follow the fall. This is an illusion- but a beguiling one.

Alpha mirroring

By - No comments:
Alpha mirroring is the phenomena by which a woman who is attached to an Alpha man takes on Alpha characteristics of her own. The first thing you will notice about her is her posture, she walks with an upright grace and smiles often. She is outgoing and friendly and seems not to have a care in the world.
Unfortunately we also see Beta mirroring where a woman succeeds in undermining her man through various shit tests. This has the effect of making the man Beta (twitchy and submissive, indecisive, reclusive and risk adverse) without benefiting the woman in any way. In fact she will resent the man for his Betadom and will destroy him in a death of a thousand cuts.
On occasion I have seen Beta men destroy women in exactly the same way- a drip drip campaign of invalidation but I have never seen an Alpha woman bring her man to a state of Alpha with her. This may be because Alpha woman are simply not drawn to Beta men and so they never get together in the first place.
There is absolutely no downside to Alpha either for yourself or those around you. Go get some today!!

Nectar revisited

By - No comments:
If you live in the UK and can join Nectar you should do so. It is free and fairly enjoyable even though it has the potential to waste a great deal of time- like Facebook I suppose. So what is it? In industry jargon it is a 'cross platform, multi retailer loyalty scheme'. In normal language this translates as a loyalty card that may be used in many different shops.
There are many such schemes in the UK but nectar grew to be by far the largest by inventing clever ways to sell more and more products to their existing client base. Once you have a card you will be bombarded with offers that seem tempting but are rarely the cheapest available. Like any incentive scheme it is possible to game the system provided one knows that it is a game.
I visited the site today and came away with 71 in points and cash- which is not bad for an hour of browsing.
I visited the site to find free ways to accumulate nectar points. These are unusually useful for loyalty points because it is actually possible to spend them. There are some retailers who will simply accept your loyalty card as if it were a credit card and give you the value of your points right then.
I found to my surprise that points were being offered simply for downloading a version of the yahoo toolbar. This flags up companies that offered nectar points but does not distort the results. You must use yahoo search but this is a pretty decent search engine.
Thompson local is offering nectar members 150 points simply for phoning certain merchants. I am sure their is a catch but this amounts to 75p a call.
I have also changed my electricity supplier- very easy to do- and this accounts for the 71.
I have also been given 100 points for joining 'team green Britain' which is a sort of corporate green crusade cum publicity campaign. This cannot do any harm and may even do some good. It is free and is an interesting alternative to the official green movement that favours greater regulation of private life and amounts to a kind of socialism.
I feel pretty pleased with myself.
NB. I never received the promised Nectar points for switching suppliers. This is because it is not possible to receive the 50 welcome credit to my bill as well as the points. Never mind. Cash is better.

Bug out, bug in

By - No comments:
We are all nine meals away from anarchy. Once a person has gone hungry for three days he is likely to become violent.
Most supermarkets do not hold a great deal of stock. If there was a breakdown in the transport system we might see the shops empty in a few hours. This is not a fantastic notion. It would probably happen within a week if Britain were unable to import oil.
BUG IN BOX (items that will be of use if I intend to remain put.)
1) Emergency lighting.
It must be remembered that candles store more energy gram for gram than dynamite. Seal them in metal tins and make them airtight so that they do not burst into flames if you home catches fire.
Candle wax may be used for waterproofing and will allow you to build a fire with damp wood. I will also buy a wind up torch and radio at some point as these will be useful for camping trips.
2) Dual purpose items.
The law does not allow you to carry a weapon for self defence but you CAN defend yourself with whatever you have in your hands.
It is quite reasonable to be carrying a torch if it is dark. I have chosen a maglight (the one shaped like a club) as it is also a useful weapon if attacked. No court would blame you for carrying a torch if you were investigating a suspicious noise at night. They would take a different view if it were a baseball bat.
Buy the newer LED models if they are available in your country as the batteries last longer.
The same applies to steel pens and umbrellas in normal life. You are entitled to defend yourself and cannot be blamed for owning these items.
3) Flu survival kit.
I believe that there will almost certainly be some sort of flu pandemic. This will be deeply unpleasant for most of the people who experience it but not fatal.
If you are not sure how seriously to take it you may track its progress on this real time map. Here
All medical help will tend to be directed towards the most vulnerable. For this reason you will have to retreat to your bed and sweat out the illness alone.
The biggest problem with flu is that it makes one terribly weak. We know that we are supposed to drink plenty of water but we generally do not have the strength to get out of bed.
Have some soup or other convalescent food in the house for when you start to recover. It is also a good idea to drink fruit juice during the illness as it provides a little glucose and keeps the strength up.
It is unlikely that anti viral drugs will be available so we will have to rely upon the old remedies. Keep a bottle of water by the bed, paracetamol (the active ingredient in many expensive cold cures) tiger balm and Vitamin C. Be careful not to overdose on paracetamol by taking multiple products. Ginger root is also good for aches and pains. If you are reasonably fit you will be OK.
If the pandemic strikes, basic hygiene will serve you better than high tech gadgets. Viruses tend to become less deadly over time.
4) General first aid.
Keep plenty of plasters to hand as these are usually the first item to run out. Do not carry aspirin (it causes internal bleeding if there is an injury) and have plenty of safety pins, particularly if you have to travel. Clothing can be easily torn.
NOTE: Aspirin does have its uses- but not as an emergency painkiller. Its blood thinning properties can save someones life if it is given in the first stages of a heart attack. It is also alleged to have anti cancer properties.
5) In a political crisis.
Keep your passport and driving licence in your emergency box. The authorities may require you to prove your identity, or you may need to relocate quickly.
Survivalists often keep a supply of gold coins as gold is proof against inflation, deflation and the breakdown of the banking system. They may be moved across borders and leave no paper trail when spent. They are therefore very popular as a hedge against political tyranny. I have some gold sovereigns of my own but hope never to need them.
6) Money.
Buy a money belt. These strap across the waist and are difficult to steal. In addition they offer limited protection from stab wounds. If you suspect a crisis is brewing, withdraw a wad of cash. This will allow you to survive if the ATM's are no longer dispensing. In the event of a political crisis you may also wish to make indicative purchase in cash. An indicative purchase is any purchase that would indicate your intentions- such as a journey to another city or another country.
7) Water and air.
You may survive for three weeks without food. Three days without water and three minutes without air.
Maintain a supply of water bottles and fill the bath in any emergency. It is easier for a terrorist to poison the water supply than hijack a plane. Airborne toxins will also tend to be washed into the water supply and carried many miles.
If you suspect a dirty (radioactive) bomb or anthrax you must prevent dust entering your home. Seal all entry points with tape.
8) Potassium Permanganate.
This is just about the most useful survival good imaginable. It takes the form of purple crystals and may be used to colour snow (it is a powerful die). Alternatively it may be used to sterilise water or a wound. It may even be used as a fire starter as the crystals release oxygen when heated.
9) Food and drink.
A large quantity of fruit juice- as much as you can store.
You may wish to store baked beans (good source of protean and energy). Tinned fruit, chunky soup (which you may have to eat cold) and milk powder.
10) Potassium iodide tablets.
These are the famous 'anti radiation' tablets we hear of in old films. They are particularly effective in the event of a nuclear accident or dirty bomb incident.
You exact choice of survival kit will depend upon you view of the threat. My own kit consists of items that I am likely to use in normal life even if there is no emergency. I own no illegal weapons as this is more likely to create an emergency than save me from one.
You may assemble a very useful bug in box for as little as 50.
My BUG OUT BAG contains..
1) Clothing. Spare underwear, dry t shirts and so on. A waterproof mac is useful in warm weather.
2) A leatherman with a legal blade. These are the most useful items ever invented. A Swedish fire-stone for fire-making in wet conditions is also useful, as is elephant tape, a wind up torch, and some matches.
3) Plastic bin-liners. These are useful for waterproofing. Space blankets for warmth and a whistle for communication. Mirrors and a compass will help too.
4) Tent, gortex boots and a sleeping bag.
5) Fruit juce and a refillable camping bottle. Water is more important than food.
6) String.
7) A camping stove or fire kit.
A bug out bag will cost about 250 but will double as a camping kit!

White tea

By - No comments:
White tea is a more delicate and smoother version of green tea. This is the famous 'slimming tea' that we sometimes hear of. It is slimming because it slightly raises the metabolic rate but tea also causes fat to be stored differently within the body.
White tea is, of course calorie free because it is drunk without milk. An additional advantage is that it has powerful anti cancer properties. All tea is good against cancer- but milk tends to neutralise the good effects so white and green teas are far more healthy than black.
Do not expect miracles from white tea- and do not pay too much for it! There are some people selling green tea as a miracle cure and it is certainly not that.
White tea is only really useful if you stick at it.
