Ghost Breakfast - London. Saturday Sept 3rd

By - No comments:
Join me for the London Ghost Breakfast at 9am at the Crosse Keys pub in the City. A range of traditional English breakfasts willl be available quite cheaply (at least by City standards.). I will be there to download some apps to my beloved iPad and to talk to any readers who may wish to drop in.
This is my mug shot for those who have not met me. The address is 9 Gracechurch St, London EC3V 0DR.
An exterior view may be found here.

Exaustion

I am exhausted.
I had to take a break after this sentence. Why am I exhausted?
I had to work twelve hour shifts through a heavy cold. I did this for eleven days. Prisoners and cattle are entitled to rest and sleep but not the average working man it seems. This is because the tax system taxes men more heavily than women and nobody seems to think this odd.
Sure.. I could go on a rant about this- but I am exhausted.
Feminism uses high taxation and exhaustion as a means to social control. Gulags are old technology from the Soviet Union. Feminists have replaced the propaganda of power (May Day parades and so forth) and replaced it with a propaganda of weakness (pretending that men have more power than we do). Apart from this central difference the effect is remarkably similar. Men are silenced and worked half to death. Only the barbed wire and the guards are missing. This is a double advantage to the feminists. Excessive work restricts our movements but it also prevents thought. A man needs leisure for thought and an obsessive focus upon work results in a limited mental world.
The first enemy therefore is exhaustion. Exhaustion is cumulative. First one finds one does not have time to eat properly and then one becomes ill. This means that everything takes longer than it should. I no longer have the energy to visit the supermarket and so gradually I stop eating completely. It is easy to do this if one is exhausted and ill as one has no appetite.
Actually I am dieing and I have only just realised it.
The answer to exhaustion is a Safe Haven. This a place where one may recover from what the world throws at us. Lack of a safe haven is the hidden cause of many, many illnesses.
Last month (long before I became ill) I felt the icy hand of exhaustion upon me and began by some instinct to create my haven. I bought a juicer and resolved to drink carrot juice each morning. Carrot juice is filling and it is possible to work for many hours on a carrot juice and some toast. I also bought a bale of towels for the bathroom. These are a beautiful virgin white and I have used the old ones as pipe lagging. Simply using them gives me a subtle boost each morning.
We all have the intuition to know what should be in our Haven. Unfortunately we often ignore this. if I had used my juicer every day as planned I may never have become ill.
To develop your intuition simply stand in a room for a while. How does it feel? How could it feel better? Choose a cheap and practical fix and repeat the process.
COSTINGS
One cup of carrot juice- 33p (23p carrots + 10p capital cost of the juicer).
Incidental savings.
a) No need to take a vitamin pill in the morning.
b) The carrot juice will replace one cup of coffee.
c) Carrot juice is more filling than tea or coffee meaning you will eat less.

How to cut the power bills

By - No comments:
Most of us are paying more for our electricity than we were a year ago. What can we do about it?
The knee jerk reaction is to reduce the wattage of everything. Surely it will save money to have low power appliances?
Not necessarily. Where does all that wasted power go anyway? It is turned into heat. In other words your energy efficient appliance is not energy efficient of you have to heat your house as a result.
Knowing that wasted energy is turned into heat can be quite useful when it comes to finding out why your power bills are so large. Simply go around your home touching everything. If it is warm, it is using power. If it is cold, it is leeching heat from your home. Simple! There is no need to buy an expensive power meter to do this.
My own home is pretty energy efficient and is basically self heating. In other words I rarely have to turn the heating on because my household appliances heat the home for me.
The biggest source of heat is my boiler. I have tried fitting purpose designed jackets but these have not worked well for me as they allow air to circulate beneath. I then had the brainwave of stuffing my closet with all of my winter clothing which not only saves space but makes very good boiler insulation too.
What happens when winter comes and I need to wear my warm clothes? I will unpack my closet and allow the boiler to 'waste' heat by keeping my flat warm.

Before the Fall

We are all survivalists now. No wise person can exist without an up to date C.V.
This is why economic recovery is so slow and faint. When individuals come to money they do not spend it as they once did- they reduce their debts as they have no idea what the future brings. The same is true of companies. Many companies have done good work on their overheads and are now profitable with quite low levels of sales. Management has returned to the nuts and bolts of the business and is less interested in financial engineering. Prior to the crash it was possible to find companies who ran entire divisions at a loss simply because stock analysts expected them to be active in certain areas such as Internet marketing. These days the City is happy to find a company that makes a stable profit. Castles in the air are out.
All this is good but it means that we will not return to the old ways for many years. The best we can hope for is a long period of debt reduction and uncertainty.
Nevertheless we must remember that some individuals prosper even in dark times. The fleet of foot can always adapt to new conditions and having little stake in the old order can actually be an advantage. The Ghost fits this template perfectly. He is self reliant and cynical of all the grand plans of government.
We must all have two C.V. One of these is for the most likely outcome (a long malaise) and the other is for the fall. Neither of them is your traditional paper resume.
Your C.V for the long malaise. The traditional paper C.V is dead simply because employers no longer have time to read them. A company may receive 100 unsolicited C.V a day in the present conditions and cannot store them let alone read them all. A paper C.V remains useful for highly specialised jobs but they will only be read once you have the employers attention.
Everyone needs to update their LinkedIn accounts regularly. I was shocked to find that mine was only 60% complete and this simply will not do if I want options in my life. Purge your Facebook account of embarrassing photographs (drunkenness, nudity and so on). Get yourself some qualifications. This need not cost much and need not even be relevant. The important thing is to show continuing mental activity once one has left school.
Your C.V for the Fall.
If the worst comes to the worst you will need a different C.V altogether. You will need good friends around you. You will need primitive skills and you will will need reserves of mental and physical health. Everyone needs to create a 'ghost' C.V and to post this on-line. We need to create a network of alliances ahead of any future crisis. A 'ghost' C.V is simply a list of survival abilities and transferable skills for the fall. These will generally be a two way bet. In other words they will help you in good times and bad. Which employer would not prefer a self reliant employee who can deliver a baby, fix a car, disarm an armed attacker and then put out a raging fire? These are traditional masculine attributes that have been sadly engineered out of society. Your employer will enjoy having you around but come the Fall it will be you who issues the orders and not him.
