The story is always the same- the world is coming to an end due to the folly of the rich and the powerful but fortunately a small group see it coming. This is also the motivation behind a lot of survivalism. Survivalists often look forward to a new and more pure society that will follow the fall. This is an illusion- but a beguiling one.
